To celebrate the release of\u00a0\u2018Made Of Rain\u2019 The Psychedelic Furs<\/strong>\u00a0have announced a very special show at the renowned\u00a0Royal Albert Hall<\/strong>\u00a0in London (May 14th). This show will feature exclusive performances of the new album along with the band\u2019s fabulous and unforgettable hits. An exclusive presale for The Royal Albert Hall will be available next week for fans who preorder the new album from the band\u2019s\u00a0Official Store<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Tickets will be on general sale on Friday 7th<\/sup>\u00a0February.<\/p>\n

From its exhilarating opening bars,\u00a0Made Of Rain<\/strong>\u00a0– sounds like\u00a0The Psychedelic Furs<\/strong>\u00a0and them alone. It\u2019s a joy to hear again, fresher than ever. Their peerless permutations of art, aggression and ambience drive the dynamics, and it\u2019s always been this originality which has set them apart, a cut above. The album was produced by Richard Fortus, whilst mixing duties were handled by Tim Palmer (David Bowie, U2, Robert Plant).<\/p>\n

Led by vocal and lyrical genius Richard Butler with his brother Tim on bass, The Psychedelic Furs released seven critically acclaimed studio albums – \u2018The Psychedelic Furs\u201d (1980), \u2018Talk Talk Talk\u2019 (1981),\u00a0 \u2018Forever Now\u2019 (1982), \u2018Mirror Moves\u2019 (1984), Midnight To Midnight\u2019 (1987), \u2018Book Of Days\u2019 (1989) and \u2018World Outside\u2019 (1991). They released many classic singles throughout the \u201980\u2019s and into the 90\u2019s, including: \u2018Sister Europe,\u2019 \u2018Love My Way,\u2019 \u2018The Ghost In You,\u2019 \u2019 Pretty In Pink,\u2019 \u2018Heaven,\u2019 \u2018Heartbreak Beat,\u2019 \u2019All That Money Wants\u2019 and \u2018Until She Comes.\u2019<\/p>\n

In recent years the band have toured continually completing a tour of North America in 2019 and played acclaimed shows at The Hollywood Bowl, All Points East, Hyde Park and Benic\u00e0ssim. A celebrated handful of UK shows including headlining the prestigious Meltdown at the Royal Festival Hall at Robert Smith of The Cure\u2019s request. This past October, the band played a sold-out tour of the UK and Europe which culminated in a triumphant show at the Roundhouse in London.<\/p>\n

The last few years has seen the band\u2019s legend growing, highlighted by the fact they have scored over 150 million streams of their songs worldwide. Their influence since arriving on the post-punk scorched-earth landscape four decades ago has reverberated and resonated from everyone from The Killers to REM to Foo Fighters to Bob Dylan has sung their praises.\u201cI\u2019m aware of the fact that people cite us an influence\u201d, says Richard, \u201cthough I don\u2019t often recognise it in their music. It\u2019s gratifying of course, as it is that there\u2019s still an interested and enthusiastic audience for us. That\u2019s an honour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many moons after Pretty In Pink (sort of) inspired that John Hughes movie, Love My Way has featured in Oscar-winning film Call Me By Your Name and The Ghost In You in sci-fi smash Stranger Things showing that The Psychedelic Furs are sounding stronger than ever. As anyone who\u2019s seen the band lately knows, Butler remains one of the most watchable frontmen in the game.<\/p>\n
