Yet, there is so much more to know about the man himself. This intimate portrait traces\u00a0the many lives\u00a0and careers of one of the most important guitarists in music, capturing what it means to be a rock \u2018n\u2019 roll icon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv5919290449MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv5919290449MsoNormal\"><b><i>Somebody Up There Likes Me\u00a0<\/i><\/b>traces Wood\u2019s 50-year musical history, from The Birds, The Jeff Beck Group, The Faces (with Rod Stewart), and The New Barbarians, to becoming a permanent member of The Rolling Stones.\u00a0Additionally,\u00a0Mike Figgis\u00a0captures Wood\u2019s charismatic warmth, energy and honesty as he speaks openly about his battles with drink and drugs.\u00a0 The film takes its title from a conversation with Wood about surviving his chronic smoking habit:\u00a0<i>\u201cWhen they operated on my cancer, they took away my emphysema. They said my lungs were as if I\u2019d never smoked. I thought: \u2018How\u2019s that for a Get Out Of Jail Free card?\u2019 Somebody up there likes me, and somebody down\u00a0here likes me too.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv5919290449MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv5919290449MsoNormal\">The documentary features brand new interviews with Wood\u2019s\u00a0<b>Rolling Stones<\/b>\u00a0bandmates\u00a0<b>Mick Jagger<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Keith Richards<i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b>and\u00a0<b>Charlie Watts<\/b>, as well as his\u00a0<b>Faces\u00a0<\/b>bandmate,\u00a0<b>Rod Stewart<\/b>. Other interviewees include Wood\u2019s wife\u00a0<b>Sally Wood<\/b>, singer\u00a0<b>Imelda May<\/b>\u00a0and artist\u00a0<b>Damien Hirst<\/b>, alongside both\u00a0present-day performances and archive footage from Wood&#8217;s stellar multi-band career.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv5919290449MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv5919290449MsoNormal\">These interviews and performance segments blend with footage of Wood playing guitar and harmonica (a reminder of his talents as a versatile instrumentalist), as well as quiet, personal moments while he paints in his studio.
