As Autumn creeps through the door, Suzie Stapleton has unveiled a timely new film clip for the\u00a0appropriately titled track \u2018September\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0\u2018September\u2019 is the fourth single from the Brighton-based artist\u2019s self-produced debut album \u2018We
\nAre The Plague\u2019 which was released on July 31st via Negative Prophet Records. The album,\u00a0\u00a0which weaves it\u2019s way through alternative rock to gothic-blues and dark-folk, has been stacking up\u00a0praise with Stapleton being compared to Patti Smith, Nick Cave, Emma Ruth Rundle, and\u00a0Mark Lanegan. \u2018We Are The Plague\u2019 was voted into Louder Than War\u2019s Top 22 Albums\u00a0of 2020 So Far in July and tracks from the album have been played on BBC6, Radio Eins,
\nDouble J and more.<\/p>\n

Whilst \u2018We Are The Plague\u2019 is the defiant call of a generation sold down the river, \u2018September\u2018\u00a0takes a more introspective turn. Stapleton\u2019s band – bassist Gavin Jay (who also filmed and\u00a0edited the video) of Jim Jones & The Righteous Mind and drummer Jim Macaulay of The\u00a0Stranglers – rumble beneath Stapleton\u2019s driving guitar lines which are reminiscent of an\u00a0unhinged Thurston Moore. Lyrically Stapleton doesn\u2019t disappoint with a feverish shamanistic\u00a0outpouring as the song crescendos and her dry-wit shining through with lines such as \u2018Muses don\u2019t
\nget royalties\u2019.<\/p>\n

It seems Stapleton is keeping up the pace on other fronts, recently making a cameo on backing\u00a0vocals on Crippled Black Phoenix\u2019s single \u2018Cry of Love\u2019 from their forthcoming album\u00a0\u2018Elleng\u00e6st\u2019 . Stapleton also contributes guitar to a Bauhaus rendition on the album which is set\u00a0for release on October 9th via Season of Mist. Stapleton met Crippled Black Phoenix via\u00a0their 2014 collaboration on The Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions Project which Stapleton
\ncontributed to whilst still based in Australia.<\/p>\n

Stapleton\u2019s next live dates are in February supporting Humanist in London, Manchester, and Brighton.<\/p>\n
