He first discovered the song on a scratchy R&amp;B compilation in the 1970s and it became a staple on the set list of Joe\u2019s first band, the 101ers, before recording it with\u00a0<strong>The Clash<\/strong>\u00a0for the seminal\u00a0<em>Sandinista!\u00a0<\/em>album in 1980 and it being a mainstay of live shows until the very end of Joe\u2019s career with the Mescaleros. This previously unreleased home recording of \u201cJunco Partner\u201d offers an intimate insight into Joe\u2019s unique vocal delivery and distinctive driving rhythmic guitar playing, with the accompanying animated mixed media video being created by\u00a0<strong>Spencer Ramsey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Released on Friday, March 26th,\u00a0<em>ASSEMBLY<\/em>\u00a0showcases carefully curated remastered tracks from Joe Strummer\u2019s solo catalog, including \u201cComa Girl,\u201d \u201cJohnny Appleseed,\u201d and \u201cYalla Yalla\u201d (with The Mescaleros) to his iconic rendition of Bob Marley\u2019s \u201cRedemption Song\u201d and soundtrack contributions like \u201cLove Kills\u201d (from the 1986 film,\u00a0<em>Sid and Nancy<\/em>). Remastered by three-time GRAMMY\u00ae\u00a0Award-winning engineer\u00a0<strong>Paul Hicks<\/strong>\u00a0(The Beatles \/ John Lennon \/ The Rolling Stones \/ David Bowie), the 16-track compilation features three previously unreleased versions of classic The Clash tracks, including \u201cJunco Partner\u201d and the previously unreleased electrifying live performances of \u201cRudie Can\u2019t
