Recorded at Brockfield Hall near York, UK, with a firm eye on the old school way using Marshall cabs, Marshall amps, real drums and produced by\u00a0Biff Byford<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0Jacky Lehmann\u00a0<\/strong>recording and mixing,\u00a0Saxon<\/strong>\u00a0approach the likes of\u00a0Mot\u00f6rhead<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018Bomber<\/strong>\u2019 (with added whistle!),\u00a0Toto<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018Hold The Line<\/strong>\u2019,\u00a0Black Sabbath<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018Evil Woman<\/strong>\u2019 and a raucous\u00a0Deep Purple<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018Speed King<\/strong>\u2019 with refreshingly warm, unfiltered, \u201cvintage\u201d sounding renditions.<\/p>\n

Continues\u00a0Byford<\/strong>: \u201cWe wanted to do an album based on our influences, the songs and bands that inspired us to write what we did and still do<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Byford<\/strong>\u00a0does, indeed, take on some new vocal challenges, which he duly smashes on the likes of\u00a0Thin Lizzy<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018The Rocker<\/strong>\u2019. The net result is that whether cranking up a heavyweight take on\u00a0Led Zeppelin<\/strong>‘s \u2018Immigrant Song<\/strong>\u2019 or throwing down\u00a0AC\/DC<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018Problem Child<\/strong>\u2019,\u00a0Saxon<\/strong>\u00a0does a supreme job of entertaining both themselves and their audience throughout\u00a0Inspirations<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
