Hanoi\u2019s \u201811th<\/sup> Street Kids\u2019 is a perfect choice, especially on the cusp of summer. It suits the band\u2019s style and Matt\u2019s voice. A less obvious choice, perhaps, is ABBA\u2019s \u2018S.O.S\u2019, but it works perfectly, the change from minor chord verse and major chorus being used to full effect.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Included here are the two covers from previous singles; they pull off the rare feat of covering a Kirsty MacColl song without lowering the standard. \u2018They Don\u2019t Know\u2019 is one of my favourite songs, and I\u2019d be obliged to say if it didn\u2019t work, but it\u2019s an absolute treat. And Billy Ocean\u2019s \u2018Love Really Hurts Without You\u2019 will get your feet bopping, it\u2019s a belter.<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t aware of \u2018Starry Eyes\u2019 by Roky Erickson, but, to be fair, it sounds like a Speedways song, so it\u2019s a natural choice, and will make me check out his poppier tunes. Five songs, 5 out of 5 for me, pop pickers? Nod arf! Get on it now.<\/p>\n
