REBELLION FESTIVAL LAUNCH R-FEST \u2013 THE FESTIVAL WITHIN A FESTIVAL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A NEW OUTDOOR FESTIVAL IN FRONT OF BLACKPOOL TOWER TO TAKE PLACE AUGUST 4-7, 2022, IN ADDITION TO REBELLION AT THE WINTER GARDENS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rebellion Festival<\/strong>, the largest punk and alternative festival in the world, is returning in 2022 even bigger and better with the launch of new outdoor event R-FEST<\/strong> \u2013 the festival within a festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confirmed to take place this coming 4th<\/sup> to 7th<\/sup> of August 2022, in addition to Rebellion Festival <\/strong>at its annual home the Winter Gardens,<\/strong> R-FEST<\/strong> will be located slap bang in front of Blackpool Tower on the promenade, directly down from the Winter Gardens. The organisers are building an arena with the sea on one side and the town on the other, with a capacity for 15,000 punters and space for bars, food, and band merchandise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, R-FEST<\/strong> can announce that English indie-rock legends The Wedding Present<\/strong> will be joining the line-up on Saturday August 6th<\/sup>. They replace the Chameleons <\/strong>who are sadly no longer able to perform, but the Leeds born John Peel favourites will join Gary Numan, Peter Hook & the Light, Pop Will Eat Itself, Spear of Destiny, Primitives<\/strong> and Pete Bentham & the Dinner Ladies <\/strong>for what is sure to be a fantastic day of classic music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery time Rebellion Festival announces its line-up I say: \u201cWe have to go to that festival this time.\u201d But we\u2019ve sadly never made it. Until now,\u201d<\/em> exclaims singer and songwriter David Gedge<\/strong>. \u201cI feel<\/em> honoured that The Wedding Present have been invited to appear at this year\u2019s brilliant-looking event.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

THURSDAY 4th<\/sup> AUGUST: Levellers, Hawkwind, Misty in Roots, Dreadzone, Ferocious Dog, Beans on Toast, Millie Manders and the Shut Up<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FRIDAY 5th<\/sup> AUGUST: The Stranglers, The Undertones, The Skids, From the Jam, Toyah, Jilted John, The Vapors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SATURDAY 6th<\/sup> AUGUST: Gary Numan, Peter Hook & the Light, Pop Will Eat Itself, Spear of Destiny, The Wedding Present, Primitives, Pete Bentham & the Dinner Ladies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUNDAY 7th<\/sup> AUGUST: Squeeze, Billy Bragg, Tom Robinson Band, Hollie Cook, Buzzcocks, Altered Images, I, Doris<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-FEST will quickly establish itself as the North West\u2019s premier music festival and Rebellion Festival look forward to welcoming many fans that could be experiencing one of their events for the first time. We’re sure they will be welcomed by the Rebellion Family and soon realise why Blackpool is such a special place for our summer gatherings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-FEST is a standalone festival and day tickets are available at \u00a350 per day. However, if you are a REBELLION weekend or REBELLION day ticket holder your ticket will get into R-FEST Free Of Charge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-FEST is all ages and there is re-entry available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rebellion Festival<\/strong> also looks forward to hosting the best punk from around the world in 2022 with the likes of Sham 69<\/strong>, Bad Religion<\/strong>, Circle Jerks<\/strong>, Cock Sparrer<\/strong> and Stiff Little Fingers<\/strong> confirmed to play the Winter Gardens<\/strong> August 4th<\/sup>-7th<\/sup> 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
