Having just reviewed \u2018Failure, Not Success\u2019, here comes the first album by Thee Headcoats in 22 years. Yes, Billy, Bruce and Johnny are back, after their recent tribute EP to The Downliner Sect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Has time affected them? Of course not! Tweed Deerstalkers in place, and we\u2019re off! 12 tracks veering from the Medway sound to their chaotic \u2018Dustbin Mod\u2019, as on final song \u2018The Kids Are All Square\u2019. On \u2018Thee Headcoatitude\u2019, they still manage to breathe life into old garage rock riffs, with \u20187% Solution\u2019 giving a nod to Link Wray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it\u2019s \u2018The Baker Street Irregulars\u2019 and its call of \u201cwho\u2019ll be next in line to don the Deerstalker hat?\u201d, complete with wailing harp, or the story of \u2018Mr H Headcoat\u2019, like an English cousin of The Cramps, you either get it or you don\u2019t. Obviously, I\u2019m in the former group, which means this year is getting expensive. And that\u2019s not including buying new headgear. Can I carry off a Deerstalker?
