Presley<\/strong> returns with a new album \u2018Chaos and Calypso\u2019, due October 20<sup>th<\/sup> via <strong>God Unknown Records<\/strong>. Following a period of activity in May of this year, John broke a three-year hiatus with the brooding, hypnotic single \u2018Sinnerman\u2019 (a collaboration with friend <strong>Laura-Marty Carter<\/strong> from <strong>Blood Red Shoes<\/strong>), and live shows with <strong>Radiohead\u2019s Philip Selway<\/strong> and <strong>Gaz Coombes (Supergrass).<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sinnerman (ft Laura-Mary Carter)\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g3W9H4-qH-8?start=1&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Chaos and Calypso\u2019 features the first new music from Presley since his debut album \u2018As The Night Draws In\u2019 in 2019 and the vinyl only lockdown release \u2018Albany Sessions\u2019, which were both released to great acclaim. Presley&#8217;s music is hard to categorize but that is its strength &#8211; from folk blues noir moments to tasteful post rock walls of sound, &#8211; classic songwriting to improvised, experimental moments, Presley is constantly creating a tapestry that will engage, challenge, and inspire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A diary piece that echoes a period of ill health, of spiralling vertigo and misdiagnoses, \u2018Chaos and Calypso\u2019 shows Presley\u2019s trademark guitar tone in full effect with enough space in the mix to weave in a new palette of textures from drum machines and synths throughout.
