Benmont Tench, legendary keyboard player and founding member of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers <\/strong>is set for the release of his second solo album The Melancholy Season<\/em><\/strong> March 7 <\/strong>on Dark Horse Records<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tench\u2019s first solo effort in over a decade, The Melancholy Season <\/em>isproduced by Jonathan Wilson <\/strong>(Father John Misty, Margo Price, Billy Strings) and includes performances by Taylor Goldsmith (<\/strong>Dawes), Sara Watkins<\/strong> (Nickel Creek), singer\/songwriter Jenny O. <\/strong>and Sebastian Steinberg <\/strong>(Fiona Apple, Iron and Wine, Soul Coughing).Pre-order the record HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In anticipation of the forthcoming release, the album\u2019s title track \u201cThe Melancholy Season<\/strong>\u201d is debuting now alongside a video directed by\u00a0Chloe Badner\u00a0<\/strong>(Caroline Polachek). Tench notes,\u00a0\u201cThe meaning of the song is subject to every listener\u2019s interpretation, but I will say that the \u2018Orion\u2019 in the song is the constellation Orion, whose arrival in the night sky above my old house always signalled the coming of colder weather,\u00a0 and the emotional change that came with it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
