Guns<\/strong>\u00a0established themselves as the undisputed sleaze kings of the Sunset Strip, and, eventually, the world. Guns, in true down \u2018n\u2019 dirty form, are grinding with the April 4 release of their 15<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;studio album,&nbsp;LEOPARD SKIN, on Cleopatra Records. The mouthwatering first single, \u201cTaste It,\u201d was released today on all&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ymlpcl8.com\/96244jmbmjavaequhqagahsuazaeuwhm\/click.php\">digital outlets<\/a>. And they\u2019re all unique. It\u2019s the same with L.A. Guns. We can\u2019t shed our leopard skin, but there\u2019s a lot of different spots in this band.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those spots run the gamut from early anthems like \u201cElectric Gypsy,\u201d \u201cRip and Tear\u201d and \u201cOver the Edge,\u201d to indelible ballads like \u201cIt\u2019s Over Now\u201d and \u201cThe Ballad of Jayne,\u201d to more recent classics like \u201cSpeed,\u201d \u201cCannonball\u201d and now, the ten tracks that comprise the new album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only is&nbsp;LEOPARD SKIN&nbsp;hot on the heels of 2023\u2019s&nbsp;BLACK DIAMONDS&nbsp;album, but is also their fifth studio effort in seven years, since the core team of guitarist and band founder Tracii Guns and singer Phil Lewis reunited in 2017.&nbsp;LEOPARD SKIN, like the last few L.A. Guns records, reconvenes the tight-knit lineup of Guns, Lewis, bassist Johnny Martin, guitarist Ace Von Johnson and studio drummer Adam Hamilton, but beyond that it is its own unique beast. True to form, it\u2019s a hard-and-heavy, tough-as-nails L.A. Guns set. But the music also presents the band at their funkiest, rowdiest, most classic-rock-worshipping best. And it\u2019s clear they\u2019re having a helluva lot of fun playing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explains Tracii, \u201cWhen we started doing records again in 2017, I wanted to be really aggressive. We hadn&#8217;t put out anything new in a lot of years, and we needed to be focused to have an impact. This one was a different approach. Musically, it was more about James Brown and soul music, with some \u201970s sensibilities \u2013 things like Joe Walsh and the Rolling Stones and the New York Dolls. And the process was more organic. It was, \u2018Here\u2019s a riff, go for it. Try out \u201cLucky Motherfucker\u201d or \u201cDon\u2019t Gimme Away.\u201d Rollicking \u201870s-style glam? Drop the needle on \u201cIf You Wanna.\u201d Swampy, slide guitar-laced grooves? Crank up the Zep-tastic \u201cThe Grinder.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where does that position L.A. Guns in 2025? Tracii returns to&nbsp;LEOPARD SKIN. \u201cThe song title \u2018Lucky Motherfucker\u2019 kinda says it all,\u201d he says. \u201cBecause I don&#8217;t know how many other bands that have been around almost 40 years are still out there not just touring consistently, but putting out records consistently, and the thing just keeps getting bigger and bigger from year to year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He continues. \u201cSo the work ethic is yielding what it\u2019s supposed to, you know what I mean? The fans stay excited, we stay excited, and we keep making records.
