Swervedriver<\/strong> made an instant impact with their 1991<\/strong> debut album \u2018Raise\u2019<\/strong>, a cult classic which infused the UK\u2019s<\/strong> shoegaze scene with the furious intensity of American<\/strong> alt-rock and grunge. As new audiences discover the thrills of the \u201890s alternative scene, Swervedriver<\/strong> now announce that they will release an expanded double-vinyl 35th anniversary edition of \u2018Raise\u2019<\/strong> on October 2nd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original album has been remastered, giving the supercharged attack of favourites such as \u2018Rave Down\u2019<\/strong>, \u2018Son of Mustang Ford\u2019 <\/strong>and \u2018Sandblasted\u2019<\/strong> a fresh sheen. Now expanded to two discs, it also features two tracks from a limited 7\u201d single that was packaged with the original \u2018Raise\u2019<\/strong> vinyl. It is completed with bonus tracks that featured on the 2008<\/strong> reissue. The tracks \u2018Surf Twang\u2019<\/strong> and \u2018Deep Twang\u2019 <\/strong>have been digitised and remixed by vocalist\/guitarist Adam Franklin<\/strong>, while the sleevenotes were compiled by the original bassist Adi Vines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The double-vinyl set will be pressed on Neon Swirl <\/strong>and Blue Skies<\/strong> and is now available to pre-order HERE.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Franklin<\/strong> says, \u201cWhen we walk out on stage to perform the songs from Raise it feels like the songs have our back. It\u2019s like four men with nine henchmen, with Sci Flyer as the leader of the gang\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After \u2018Raise\u2019<\/strong>, Swervedriver<\/strong> continued to earn critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic <\/strong>with the albums \u2018Mezcal Head\u2019<\/strong>, \u2018Ejector Seat Reservation\u2019 <\/strong>and \u201899th Dream\u2019<\/strong> as well as touring with the likes of Soundgarden <\/strong>and Smashing Pumpkins<\/strong>. After their original run ended in 1998<\/strong>, they returned at Coachella<\/strong> in 2008<\/strong>, setting the path for the release of the albums \u2018I Wasn\u2019t Born To Lose You\u2019<\/strong> (2015<\/strong>) and \u2018Future Ruins\u2019<\/strong> (2019<\/strong>). 2025<\/strong> saw them release a new EP, \u2018The World\u2019s Fair\u2019<\/strong>, and play their first shows in six years with a North American<\/strong> tour.<\/p>\n\n\n

Still fronted by founder members Adam Franklin<\/strong> and Jimmy Hartridge<\/strong> (guitar), Swervedriver<\/strong> now feature Mick Quinn<\/strong> (bass, also of Supergrass<\/strong>) and Mikey Jones<\/strong> (drums).
