\"\"<\/a>The band\u2019s classic 1985 album\u00a0Strength<\/strong>\u00a0has\u00a0been expanded, remastered and revised and will be made available for pre-release online and in record stores worldwide from today February 4th 2019\u00a0onwards.<\/p>\n

All titles have been remastered from the original master tapes by mastering engineer\u00a0Pete Maher<\/strong>\u00a0(u2, White Stripes\u2026) under the supervision of\u00a0Mike Peters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The comprehensive re-mastering process has been undertaken to allow the band\u2019s music to fully embrace digital and online streaming services and ensure the music of The Alarm can be listened to\u00a0by future generations as intended by the band when recorded and committed to tape for all time.<\/p>\n

Strength 1985-1986 is being released through\u00a0The Twenty-First Century Recording Company<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 which has been \u2018home\u2019 to all Mike Peters and The Alarm music since 1994.<\/p>\n

Strength 1985-1986<\/b>\u00a0is being officially released to record stores on\u00a0March 15th 2019,\u00a0<\/strong>in both Double CD and Vinyl LP formats and also on all online music streaming services.<\/div>\n

Painstakingly put together by Mike Peters from original sources, the\u00a0\u2018Strength 1985-1986\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0CD Edition brings together all three original 1985\/86 Alarm singles and B-sides from the era,\u00a0two of which have\u00a0never been released in CD or digital formats,\u00a0<\/strong>including the \u2018Strength 7\u2033 single version, and the \u2018Spirit Of \u201976 7\u2033 Single version.<\/div>\n

Strength 1985-1986<\/strong>\u00a0has also has been restored to its original 1985 running order with the US version featuring on the CD that includes the album session version of \u2018Absolute Reality\u2019.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

STRENGTH 1985-1986 CD Editon \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Features the US album along with the\u00a0original\u00a01985 7\u2033 version of Strength (with the guitar\/vocal beginning), that has never been issued on CD before along with the 1986 7\u2033 single version of \u2018Spirit Of \u201976\u2019 which is also making its\u00a0first-ever appearance on CD. All four original \u2018Strength\u2019 period B-sides are included also. The Second disc features 22 previously unreleased album session recordings including outtake versions (with different lyrics and guitar parts), for every song on Strength including an\u00a0outtake\u00a0of the unreleased electric version of \u2018One Step Closer To Home\u2019. An in-studio jam session of spontaneous and impromptu covers of Led Zeppelin, The Who, Free, T-Rex, Lou Reed and Deep Purple are featured between tracks along with\u00a0a complete run through of the\u00a0previously\u00a0unreleased live in the studio version of Rod Stewart\u2019s Maggie May which segues into\u00a0re-workings\u00a0of The Beats \u2018Stand Down Margaret\u2019 and Bob Dylan\u2019s \u2018Maggie\u2019s Farm\u2019, providing a fascinating insight into The Alarm working together in the studio on the way to creating their magnum opus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Alarm\u2019s\u00a0most\u00a0iconic and best selling album\u00a0Strength<\/strong>\u00a0is reissued on Double Vinyl LP with the\u00a0original\u00a01985 UK album pressing.<\/p>\n

All tracks have been remastered from the original master tapes by Mike Peters and Pete Maher with extensive\u00a0sleeve notes\u00a0and quotes from original band members, plus a host of\u00a0previously\u00a0unseen photographs.<\/p>\n

SIDE ONE & TWO \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Features the UK album remastered from the original 1985 mix and running order.<\/p>\n

SIDE THREE & FOUR \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Features 9 demo tapes for the original album\u00a0concept\u00a0of Absolute Reality including 3 previously unreleased songs \u2018Sons Of Divorce\u2019, \u2018Black Side Of Fortune\u2019 and \u2018Memorial Day\u2019. All the demos were recorded with \u2018Strength\u2019 album recording engineer Nigel Luby and feature raw versions of Knife Edge and We Are Majority\u00a0both\u00a0with different lyrics along with the original version of \u2018Deeside\u2019 which was then known as \u2018Steeltown\u2019.
