Later in 1965, Ron sold his motorbike and they left for England to see\u00a0The Who\u00a0and to &#8220;try and find\u00a0The Beatles&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander and the Asheton brothers soon met\u00a0Iggy Pop\u00a0and formed The Stooges in 1967. Although Alexander was a total novice on his instrument, he was a quick learner and subsequently had a hand in\u00a0arranging,\u00a0composing\u00a0and performing all of the songs that appeared on the band&#8217;s first two albums, &#8216;<i>The Stooges&#8217;<\/i>\u00a0and &#8216;<i>Fun House&#8217;<\/i>. He is often credited by Pop and was credited by the late Ron Asheton in interviews with being the primary composer of the music for the Stooges songs &#8220;We Will Fall&#8221;,<sup id=\"cite_ref-Mojo161_2-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Little Doll&#8221; (both on\u00a0<i>The Stooges<\/i>), &#8220;Dirt&#8221; and &#8220;1970&#8221; (<i>Fun House<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p>Alexander died of\u00a0pulmonary edema\u00a0in 1975,\u00a0at\u00a0the age of 27\u00a0in Ann Arbor after being admitted to a hospital for\u00a0pancreatitis, which was linked to his drinking. Sadly it was drinking that ultimatly\u00a0got him sacked from the Stooges as its believed to have been the reason he was fired in August of 1970 after turning up drunk to a show and not being able to perform. On this very day in 1977,\u00a0<b>The Clash<\/b>\u00a0started recording their debut album at CBS studios in London,\u00a0 The album was recorded over three weekends at CBS Studio 3 in the month of\u00a0 February 1977. By the third of these sessions, the album was completed, CBS then sent it for production in the March.and then released in the April, It cost just \u00a34000 to produce! Imagine that?
