The album featured a cover of &#8216;Baby, Please Don&#8217;t Go&#8217; a blues song first recorded by Big Joe Williams and &#8216;She&#8217;s Got Balls&#8217; which was written about singer\u00a0<b>Bon Scott&#8217;s\u00a0<\/b>ex-wife Irene &#8211; the first AC\/DC song for which he wrote lyrics.<\/p>\n<p>Bon, Malcolm, Angus, Mark and Phil saw this record peak at number\u00a014 but has since gone 5x platinum what you could describe as being a slow\u00a0burner.<a href=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/220px-AustralianHighVoltage_ACDC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3915 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/220px-AustralianHighVoltage_ACDC.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/220px-AustralianHighVoltage_ACDC.jpg 220w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/220px-AustralianHighVoltage_ACDC-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/220px-AustralianHighVoltage_ACDC-65x65.jpg 65w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Originally released on\u00a0Albert Productions in Australia and has never been reissued by another label in this format.\u00a0The\u00a0international version\u00a0of\u00a0<i>High Voltage<\/i>, which was issued on\u00a0Atlantic Records\u00a0in 1976, has different cover art and track listing, with only &#8220;She&#8217;s Got Balls&#8221; and &#8220;Little Lover&#8221; appearing overseas.\u00a0&#8220;Baby Please Don&#8217;t Go&#8221;, &#8220;Soul Stripper&#8221;, &#8220;You Ain&#8217;t Got a Hold On Me&#8221; and &#8220;Show Business&#8221; was later released on\u00a0<i>&#8217;74 Jailbreak<\/i>\u00a0in 1984. &#8220;Stick Around&#8221; (about Scott&#8217;s inability to hold onto a lover for more than one night) and &#8220;Love Song&#8221; have been released on\u00a0<i>Backtracks<\/i>\u00a0in 2009. The title and artwork were the suggestion of Chris Gilbey of Albert Productions.\u00a0In the 1994 Scott biography\u00a0<i>Highway to Hell<\/i>, Gilbey explains that he came up with the concept of &#8220;an electricity substation with a dog pissing against it. It&#8217;s so tame now, but back then we thought it was pretty revolutionary.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The musicians that played on this release were quite different from the internationally famous line up\u00a0of AC\/DC &#8211; George Young who also produced the record played some\u00a0bass guitar, rhythm guitar, and backing vocals,\u00a0Rob Bailey also\u00a0played bass guitar whilst\u00a0Peter Clack played drums on their cover of &#8216;Baby Please Don&#8217;t\u00a0Go&#8217;.\u00a0Tony Currenti played drums on the other seven numbers. The\u00a0<em>Pearl Harbour \u201979<\/em>\u00a0US tour allowed The Clash to visit key cities. The band took Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll legend Bo Diddley out as support act to make America aware of its musical legacy. \u201cWe brought them in and helped to introduce them to people who weren\u2019t aware of them,\u201d Jones told Coon.
