Knox died of\u00a0Cardiogenic shock (which\u00a0is a condition in which your heart suddenly can&#8217;t pump enough blood to meet your body&#8217;s needs) on 15th June 2018.<\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"144\">Knox played drums for proto-punks the Electric Eels before joining Lux Interior and Poison Ivy Rorschach in the Cramps.\u00a0 He played on &#8216;<em data-reactid=\"152\">A Date With Elvis&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 which\u00a0was the band&#8217;s most commercially successful album. It followed 1980&#8217;s &#8216;<em data-reactid=\"158\">Songs the Lord Taught Us&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0and 1981 follow-up<em data-reactid=\"161\">\u00a0&#8216;Psychedelic Jungle&#8217;<\/em>. Knox&#8217;s final recording was, 1990&#8217;s &#8216;<em data-reactid=\"164\">Stay Sick!&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0before his departure.\u00a0 The band extensively toured Europe under Knox&#8217;s watch and hes regarded as being the glue that pulled the Cramps sound together.<a href=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/The-Cramps.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5973 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/The-Cramps-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/The-Cramps-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/The-Cramps-768x498.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/The-Cramps.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"144\">After retiring from The Band Knox didn&#8217;t surface until he appeared on stage with The Pagans in 2003and it wouldn&#8217;t be until 2017\u00a0\u00a0when he was credited as \u201csenior advisor\u201d to the Cleveland-based punk band Archie And The Bunkers in 2017.<\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"144\">After his passing Knox had some wonderful testimonials from his peers such as his predecessor\u00a0Miriam Linna, the Cramps\u2019 drummer Knox replaced, She\u00a0Said she&#8217;d visited Knox in the intensive care unit in Cleveland. She added, \u201cI thank God that Nicky was a friend of mine. He was one of the kindest, funniest, most amazing human beings ever and I was very lucky to have been in his orbit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reactid=\"177\">On his passing Former guitarist Kid Congo Powers tweeted, \u201cNick Knox Coolest of the cool. R.I.P. Glad to have played to your boss Beat.
