\"\"<\/a>I was really not sure what to expect with this one, a solo offering coming from the front-woman of Purson Rosalie Cunningham, \u00a0but as opening track\u00a0 \u2018Ride on my bike<\/strong>\u201d opens up I\u2019m thinking early 60\u2019s maybe 70\u2019s psychedelia \u201cala\u201d Barrett era Pink Floyd, maybe a hint of the Chocolate watch band, but definitely not what I expected. The vocals themselves, almost (I said almost) entering Jefferson Airplane territory.<\/p>\n

Next up \u201cFuck love<\/strong>\u201d again drifts down the route of Psychedelia and I\u2019m starting to get a bit of a prog vibe the discord, offsetting the vocals, is a bit too technical for my taste\u2019s, in fact, it\u2019s lost me I\u2019m finding this challenging to say the least.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a carny-style intro to \u201cHouse of the glass red<\/strong>\u201d and I think I\u2019m rapidly disappearing down the rabbit hole, the Alice in Wonderland vibe which is so dependent on the substance consumed has left me in a strange place, surrounded by imagery I\u2019m at complete odds with.<\/p>\n

Next up \u201cDethroning the party queen<\/strong>\u201d again tracks the carny trail, almost Mickey mouse controlling the sweeping brushes ala Fantasia, the sound and vocals rising and falling and I\u2019m starting to think if at the outset the music was designed to create an environment where we vanish into a world of individual psychedelic fairy tails then I\u2019m getting it, but fck it\u2019s not an easy listen.<\/p>\n

Next up \u201cNobody Hears<\/strong>\u201d begins with an almost Jazz Piano intro before a harmonium comes through and a more medieval sound appears (as if by magic), I\u2019m not sure if you could call this prog it really is all over the place, it\u2019s so far out there I\u2019m grasping at straws, trying to grab links to try to understand what I\u2019m listening to and ending up thinking about Mr. Benn!!!!! Isn\u2019t it amazing where music takes your mind?<\/p>\n

At this point I\u2019m smiling to myself, I\u2019ve given up being constructive and am off with the fairies bouncing along the yellow brick road to the emerald city \u201cRiddles and Games\u201d <\/strong>is actually playing but by this time my fragile mind has lost the plot completely and I\u2019m barely hanging in there. Then \u201cButterflies<\/strong>\u201d starts and I\u2019m into Thames-men era Spinal Tap and off again lost in my own little world.<\/p>\n

I have to say at this point I\u2019m really not the right person to review this, I just don\u2019t get this genre at all, its all elves, pixies, Unicorns and abstract fairy tails (purely a personal opinion) I\u2019m not even going to go into \u201cRumpelstiltskin\u201d sorry\u00a0 \u201cA yarn from a wheel\u201d. Absolutely not for me but I\u2019m sure it will appeal to any lover of Prog and as if by magic over to you DD!!!!!<\/p>\n
