Ash went to art school and Murphy went to work in a printing factory. They met up again five years later and Ash suggested forming a band. Rigging up a makeshift\u00a0rehearsal\u00a0space, Ash played an Echo 12 \u2013 bar blues, while Murphy sang a series of newspaper articles. Four weeks later, they formed Bauhaus and recorded &#8220;Bela Lugosi&#8217;s Dead&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zq7xyjU-jsU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After nearly five years Bauhaus fell apart and Ash put together Tones on Tail again with drummer\u00a0Kevin Haskins. As Ash described them: &#8220;We were a motley crew of individuals who essentially wanted to sound like a band from Venus or Mars!&#8221; it was to be a band that lasted until the mid &#8217;80s.<a href=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7057 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-3-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-3-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-3-65x65.jpg 65w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-3.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ash founded Love and Rockets in 1985 with Haskins and\u00a0David J, also of Bauhaus. The band lasted until 2009 when Ash called it a day and stated that was it and a band he would never return to.\u00a0 During the last ten years, he has been experimenting more with electronic music, both with Love and Rockets and as a solo artist. Since the last reformation of Bauhaus, however, he has been returning to a more guitar-based rock sound.\u00a0In 2008, Bauhaus released &#8216;<i>Go Away White&#8217;<\/i>, (their first studio album in 25 years) which was followed by a world tour.\u00a0 Funnily enough the very same year Love &amp; Rockets played\u00a0Coachella Music and Arts Festival, funny that.<\/p>\n<p>It was\u00a0March 2017, Daniel Ash,\u00a0Haskins (obviously)\u00a0and Haskin&#8217;s daughter\u00a0Diva Domp\u00e9\u00a0formed\u00a0POPTONE\u00a0and a US tour, featuring songs by all the three bands the pair had performed in together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-7059 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-275x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-275x300.jpg 275w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash-768x839.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rpmonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ash.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 275px) 100vw, 275px\" \/><\/a>Ash has so far managed five solo albums, Five with Bauhaus, One with Tone &amp; Tails and one with poptone as well as a plethora of EPs live albums compilations and anthologies.
