\"\"<\/a>\u201cAce Welsh, punk power-poppers\u201d Nicotine Pretty are back, with a blast. If you\u2019re already acquainted with their previous tracks, \u2018Who\u2019s Gonna Save My Soul?\u2019 and \u2018Nicotine Pretty\u2019, this will come as no surprise. This E.P includes said tunes and four newies.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opener, \u2018Bygone Boy\u2019 fair roars out of the speakers; \u201cwhoah!\u201d indeed. Like the Manics rubbing up against the New York Dolls, it\u2019s 2 mins 50 that you\u2019ll want to stick on repeat. Ginge Knievil sings of leaving his darker habits behind, but there\u2019s no let up in energy here.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\u2018This Ship Ain\u2019t Going Down\u2019 is a fitting tribute to the band\u2019s fight against personal difficulties. They\u2019ve had a rough time, but the mood is hard-edged optimism; a fine singalong. \u2018Bad Whiskey\u2019 keeps up the addictive choruses, with a gorgeous, melodic solo.<\/p>\n

\u2018Over The Edge\u2019 written and sung by guitarist Lewis, keeps the early Manics feel, and reminds me of the Exploding Hearts, which is a very good thing.<\/p>\n
