Check out the latest podcast from the funboy three- well, the jolly boys duo as Chris is on a sabbatical due to an adverse physical turn with the change in the weather.
This week’s episode is the usual jam-packed episode with new tunes from the underground and some from the overground as well, but Episode 134 is a special due to us having Mauro Venegas from Mauro & The Mob drop by to tell us about his new project and what we can expect, so we end the episode with my chat with Mauro and play his new single.
The Playlist is our usual top tunes, but this week’s episode is stacked with tributes to the recent passing of legend Cheetah Chrome from the Dead Boys. A few tracks he played on and wrote, as well as a cover from Slipknot frontman, which is a new one for Hotshot. So as we say adios to Cheetah, this is our track list for this episode –
01. The Dead Boys
02. Batusis
03. Sami Yaffa from the Friends of jesse Malin album out on Wicked Cool Records
04. Gyasi with the new single ‘You Got The Look’ out on alive naturalsound
05. Japans The Fadeaways bring us some Garage punk rock with ‘That Girl’
06. The Meffs release their latest album ‘Business’ so it would be rude not to include a track off the album this week.
07. Corey Taylor of Slipknot did an exceptional cover of the Dead Boys’ classic ‘All This And More’, so thought it was a nice tribute to Cheetah this week.
08. Randy Shrager offers a different flavour on this Jesse Malin track ‘Burning The Bowery’ from the Friends Of Jesse Malin record.
09. Chris Masuak and his band Dog Soldiers is a brand new band outta Australia, and Chris is best known for being a member of Radio Birdman expect to hear more from Dog Soldiers in the coming weeks. This is ‘The Shiny Side’
10. Damsens with ‘Snapchat Will Be The End Of Humanity’. Hotshots’ first hot pick is the debut track from this new band featuring Ginger Wildheart’s son, to say he was suitably impressed would be an understatement.
11. Dan Baird is Hotshots’ classic entry this week with a track off ‘Buffalo Nickel’
12. Hotshots final offering this week is The Distillers and the title track from ‘Coral Fang’
13. The penultimate track this week is dedicated to Mauro Venegas, who rounds off this weeks show with a quick chat about his new project Mauro & The Mob but he asked us to play something by the Wipers which was and is a pleasure to add to our list so heres ‘Over The Edge’.
14. We close off this week’s show with the interview with Mauro about his band as well as previous bands he’s played with over the years. Mauro And The Mob’s ‘What Have I Got To Lose’ is the final track on this week’s jam-packed episode. Until next week, enjoy.
