The Return of the Fun Boy Three who entered the pumphouse to spin some tunes that tickled their fancy this past few weeks. With an ever-expanding repertoire, this week’s tunes are as follows.

G.B.I. from their record store day single – a cover of ‘The Regulator’ originally by Bad Brains. Quickly followed by those Continental Lovers who continue to impress with every single released and we look forward to catching them live and think you should too.

Billy Morrison has a new album out and we played the impressive single ‘Drowning’ Quickly followed by Starcrawler and ‘I Love LA’. We then head back into the mists of time for the classic original Quireboys track ‘Mayfair’ and what I believe is the original version. Linking those Continental Lovers because they both head out for some live dates soon.

As we love a cover version this time we flip it and play the original from TV Smith of the track covered by The Lords Of The New Church ‘The Lord’s Prayer’. A new record coming out soon on Damaged Goods is Martin Savage & The Jiggerz so ‘Down The Line’ is aired from that record.

We also have tracks from Jason And The Scorchers followed by Screaming Rebel Angels before Tyla J Pallas gets played and one from his ‘XIII shades of Dog Vol II’ Album ‘Fool Like Me’ is the old brought into the new but now not-so-new but still a cracking tune.

Toronto Canada is where you’ll find The Anti Queens and their new single ‘Crusade’ lifted from their forthcoming album ‘Disenchanted’ coming out mid-May on Stomp Records. We turn it up to 11 as Danko Jones joins the noise pollution with ‘Guess Whos Back’. If it’s brand new music you’re after then Former More Kicks frontman James Sullivan is back with a new LP and we play ‘My Best Friend’.

The Oxys offer up ‘Mr Horrible’ but not before we play some Speedways off their Tripple Platinum which has finally arrived at Beluga Records before another new single from The Chesterfield Kings who are ‘Electrified’ out on Wicked cool records is the penultimate tune this week.

We close off the show with a track from The Waldos because Walter would have had a Birthday the day we recorded the show and anytime is a good time to play a Walter Lure song so ‘Sorry closes Episode 26. Thanks again for tuning in and we hope you’ve enjoyed our nonsense and found a new band or two to check out.

With Keilan ‘Bass Thing’ Ryan back in the fold and with a fistful of tunes to get off his chest Episode 17 of the podcast is available to play it features a slimmed-down twelve tunes in this episode kicking off with a new song from Bloodclot from their soon to be re-released second album.

Brigatta Vendetta are also played with a banger from the debut album ‘This Is How Democracy Dies’ followed by Australian noise-bringers Clowns with a track off the new album ‘Endless’. A first on the podcast is American underground legends Dead Moon with a track off ‘Echoes Of The Past’.

With a new album in the bag Knock Off have a track aired off the album before Pirates Press recording artists Hunting Lions roar into view with a track off their new album ‘King OF The Avenue’ we play the rocker ‘The City’.

The Cavemen bring a track lifted off their brand new long player ‘Cash For Scrap’ these New Zealand reprobates survived the pandemic and are going stronger than ever as the track ‘Without You’ will testify. Banger!

Next up fuzztones rock up with a track off their Horny As Hell album with a track entitled ‘Johnson In A Headlock’ – Sleazy and fuelled by some cool wheezing organ work and a proper dreamy backing vocal. Kwilan got a little excited at the suggestion with the album title and song title but the youth can’t contain themselves anymore.

Pizzatramp has been long overdue a play so what better song to play than ‘Millions Of Dead Goths’ that was accompanied by a classic video you should really check out. Another band from the US of A is The Complicators with a track off their self-titled album ‘Pressure’ is a fantastic introduction to what the band is all about. Again released on Pirates Press who offer something of a seal of quality with every release such is their impressive roster of releases.

About the head out on tour in the UK of their soon-to-be-released new album The Meteors give ‘Please Don’t Touch’ a damn good seeing to. As people know we do love a cover version here at RPM and this is most decent. We’ve been lucky enough to hear the new album ahead of release day and its right up there with the best stuff they’ve ever done. Old fans will approve and new fans will will have a place to start as they delve into the impressive back catalogue.

Finally bringing this episode to a halt is Riskee And The Ridicule with ‘Body Bag your Scene; their about the play a show that host Keilan is playing on and with a new album in tow expect more from the band as the weeks fly by. chow for now as they say in llandow. yil next time bye the podcast team.

Full steam ahead they said as the good ship RPM Online Podcast sails into treasure-filled waters. This Episode is positively overflowing with new tracks as well as an exclusive Live cover from Ravagers that will never be on streaming services or CD and is limited to 100 copies of White Vinyl. Spaghetty Town Records have kindly let us play the Ravager’s cover of ‘Goin Downtown’ by the Lords Of The New Church. That’s only one of the reasons why you should check the Podcast out.

Sweden’s First Boy On The Moon Kick off this Episode with the opening track of their new album ‘Dreamer’. Hot on the heels comes a new track off the Final Cock Sparrer Album ‘Hand On Heart’ out on April 5th. ‘I Belong To You’ is classic Sparrer and an album that sees the band get better and better.

Now co-host Hotshot likes nothing more than fantasising about Sex Pistol and Radio broadcasting inspiration and role model Steve Jones so we’ve dug deep for a sparkling live rendition of his classic ‘Silly Thing’.

Gareth ‘Hotshot’ Hooper

Hotshot wanted to change the mood by introducing a track from Garbage who penciled in a re-release of the album ‘Bleed Like Me’ with his favourite track off the album. How about Japan’s finest glam punks Angel Face with a brand new track off their Slovenly Records self-titled album. A new track from Bullets And Octane, and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard before Hotshot plays Suede with a track off their latest album ‘Autofiction’.

Ravagers are a glam punk n roll band outta The USA and they have a brand new LP released through Spaghetty Town Records as pointed out in the intro above. 100 copies pressed no streaming and no downloading. This will be a must-own record and rare as rocking horse shit. We’ve got an exclusive don’t miss it.

Desperate Measures have been playing support to Cheetah Chromes Dead Boys around the UK and currently in Europe and getting great reviews so having heard the new Desperate Measures album it’s only fair we play ‘Sublime Destruction’ the title track of their soon-to-be-released Cadiz records album. Staying with Cheetahs how about a new track off The Streetwalkin Cheetahs and a wonderful track ‘Call The Dogs’ being released on Poland’s awesome Heavy Medication Records. While we’re playing the label’s newest releases we also have one from Jonesy the potty-mouthed Canadians 10″ release on HMR but not before Californians Crymwav pop by with ‘Mars Fever’ and Mala Vista get aired with a single off their soon to be released album coming out on Spaghetty Town and Beluga Records in Europe.

Marc Valentine is set to release his second album on Wicked Cool Records in the next few months, so, no time like the present to play a track off it, and having had the privilege to hear the album I can tell you it was tough which one to play seeing as the whole record is fantastic power popping Rock n Roll. Gareth drops in one of his favourite songs from Powerkeg before a fine track from The Mysterines who we reviewed recently when they played support on the Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes tour of the UK.

If you’re still with us then stick around for a banger from The Empty Page who announced this week that they have a new album coming out on their own label if this is anything to go by it promises to be excellent and the first Empty Page track we’ll be playing. With just a couple of tracks to play Sweet Tooth blast away any fatigue with their banger ‘So Gone’ from their epic Lövely Records release ‘Split Image’. This leaves River City Rebels to wipe the floor with us as they blow the fuckin doors off the show with ‘Unless Your White’ out on Screaming Crow Records.

That boys and girls is one hell of a playlist from top to bottom we doubt you’ll hear a running order with as much quality as that. Keep it RPM Online Podcast – It’s A Revolution!

Album number three for these North American synth punks or should that be punx? Taking advantage of the pandemic to strengthen their numbers from three to four. Heavy on the power pop and expanding the sound Autogramm embrace the old wave New Wave if you know what I mean. Sure it’s tubeway army for the 21st century mixed in with a healthy dose of Buggles and The Cars. But let’s not forget these guys come from the punk rock backwaters and that grounding has served them well as they’ve taken the attitude into the modern age and embraced different instruments and how punk rock can be played. they once released ‘No Rules’ and they certainly apply that to their music. Instead of being tied to one style of post-punk or another, they embrace it all and turn it into something clearly defined as Autogramm.

The album opens with the 80s synth-pop of ‘Born Losers’ that breaks out into a real 80s crowd pleaser and is unashamedly dripping with pop played with guitars and synths and nailing their flag to the mast of the jocks target in high school but the chicks know these cats got the cream. The first single is the excellent ‘WannaBe’ with its barking synth guitar throb championing being who or whatever you want to be and as the song twists and turns from the sparse bass throb to the lush harmonies it is a real earworm and one I highly recommend playing at volume. Man, there are moments on this record that take me back to when Gary Numan was the real deal with his pencil leather tie and the synth run on ‘Why Do We Dance’ leads us into one of those Devo meets Cars tunes. Robotic and cool but with some snot on their sleeves and a bit of edge in the vocal delivery.

One thing I get the more I play the record is how good it makes me feel. I love the guitar chops on ‘Love Is For Fools’ It’s such a ray of sunshine and it’s infectious stuff. ‘Plastic Punx’ was one of the videos that was released before the album came out and it’s an energetic romp through synth punk rock so don your funky shades curl your lip up and let’s pogo. I love the retro new wave of ‘Yesterday’ it reminds me of the Teardrop Explodes.

After me championing the upbeat, lucky nature of this album ‘Always Gonna Be My Girl’ is a mellow moment with sparse arrangement and the last song of the disco when you grab your girl and cheek to cheek you slow dance before she has to go home. To close off the record we take another gear shift with the more punchy ‘Dive Right In’ It’s like they’ve emerged from hibernation switched on the Commodore 64 watched a rerun of Back to the Future and written some new wave tunes looking forward to a brighter future and with this, in the cassette deck the future is so bright I have to wear shades. I know it Autogramm knows it and now you know it. Don’t delay get in it, this is music that humans have played and they’re just like me and you and if you’re here you probably also have exquisite taste so get over to Beluga if you are this side of the pond and Stomp if you’re stateside. Great Scott get back to the future kids and get some Autogramm, like yesterday you’ll enjoy it.
